A SUP adventure together

I wish all days could be like this…..

My daughter Sophie and I decided to take our stand up paddle boards and head out for a full day adventure. SUP, swim, explore and play!

The gear

We chose which boards to take based on how we wanted to use them as well as our size and weight. The iSUP Moloka’i 9’6 fit Sophie who is 10 years old very well. This standup paddleboard is inflatable. Making it light and due to the extra buoyancy you get with an inflatable SUP, it is also stable despite it being a smaller board. Sophie also wanted to try some wave surfing, so the iSUP Moloka’I 9’6 made the perfect choice since it is equipped with hard tail rails.

My choice for the day was the hard Kona Aloha 10’6 SUP. We wanted to bring the sunshade and other gear with us. So the Aloha’s size and durability was the perfect choice to carry our load. Being near indestructible, we didn’t have to think too much denting or marking the board with our cargo and it also has enough volume so Sophie and I can ride it together.

Being together

I feel that this is what paddleboarding should be all about. We aim to provide products that families can use together for active, fun and memorable adventures together. Of course the adventure doesn’t have to be a full day. Take one or two inflatable SUPs with you to your nearest lake, beach or river and get out. Have fun and be active together. Both Sophie and I had a super day and we’re already talking about where our next adventure will be. Sophie’s only suggestion for improving on our trip was that next time her Mum should come with us too! I totally agree, that would make the trip even more special.

Standup paddleboarding, or SUP for short, does not have to be about riding the big waves or seeing who can paddle the fastest, it can also be about having fun together in a group or as a family.
